Ectopic Pregnancy

What is it?
An ectopic pregnancy is one where the egg implants outside the uterus. This may be (more commonly) in the fallopian tubes.  The danger of this pregnancy is that as the pregnancy grows the expansion can rupture the fallopian tube. This may cause heavy and sudden bleeding and a lot of pain. Sharp pains may be experienced on one side or the other - the fallopian tube that the egg has impklanted in. You ,may get a brown, pink or red discharge or some bleeding.
It is most common to discover an ectopic pregnancy in the first 6-8 weeks of pregnancy.

How might you be feeling?
This is a very sensitive and emotional time for you, which may instil a feeling of loneliness and isolation, possibly giving you a sense of failure. This certainly isn’t the case and another pregnancy down the line is possible also.
