Cradle cap
You may have noticed a yellow, greasy, scaly or red patch on your baby’s head or under their hair. As temping as it is to pick it out, don’t! This may cause infection and will exasperate the itch on your baby’s head, eyelids and behind their ears is common in babies up to 12 months and is harmless.

Natural Remedies to try at home
- Wash their less often or only when it is dirty.
- When my baby's head started flaking slightly I used a small amount of organic sunflower oil each time it came up and this kept it at bay. I also noticed that it was really bad the morning after I used baby shapoo for the first time. This may have been because there is a chemical in shampoos and bubble baths stuff that helps it create a lather. this chemical is used to strip car engines! imagine what it does to their little heads.
- I have heard that Aloe liquid soap - available from Forever Living Agents - doesnt have this chemical in it, also I've been recommended the Liz Early range which can be used with babies and it doesnt have this chemical in it either. None of these are cheap options but they dont have the chemicials in it that could cause cradle cap.
- The other thing you can put into their bath is organic porridge oats in a sock. the milk goes into the bath and softens the water, plus it doesnt matter if baby sucks on it as it's natural oats! You can use the same sock of oats until the milk runs out - then replace the oats!
